To the Point

There comes a time in every epoch when pragmatism simply evolves into extreme acquiescence and surrender to the forces of apathy and do-nothingness, a guarantor of the status quo in all of its easy, democratic criminality--its fortress of greed. You could line up all the pols in the U.S. in a straight row and examine them head to toe and not find a single man or woman capable of admitting, never mind ending, the corruption of their vocation--Buddy Dooley

Fisk Unbound

The best commentary I've read to date on the big problem in the Middle East.

It is not surprising that Robert Fisk penned this, for he has done outstanding reportorial work since beginning his high-profile career at the height of "The Troubles" in Belfast in 1972.

The chickens have come home to roost as the Middle East seeks something, anything relative to its own long-due self-actualization and oil-centric autonomy.

Sykes-Picot is indeed dead, or is that a nuke falling on my head?
