Another View

The growing anti-Trump protests disturb me.

And not just because much of the rancor comes from Republicans, never mind liberals of every persuasion.

I don't think U.S. citizens ought to protest elections, unless the elections are rigged.

I mean rigged in a dictatorial sense; some would say our elections are already rigged inasmuch as they're about money.

Trump is legitimate in the eyes of stupid people.  We can't stop stupidity without denigrating elections in general, or democracy.

What we really need is for everybody who is eligible to vote, along with better candidates across the land.

I'd rather Trump be elected than protested so we might one day hang him in the public square.
